I am going to try adjusting the frequency of the Evening with streams, the weekly streams are getting a little tiring for me, I guess you lot must be getting bored too!
I’m going to switch to 2 streams a month, keeping the last Thursday of the month as an “Everyone” show and having the other as a “Gang” stream. This one will probably be the 2nd Thursday of the month.
If demand is high I can always chuck in extra streams, and probably will if something of note comes along, but for now we will see how it goes.
So, no stream this coming Thursday, the next is on the 12th March.
I took this picture while setting up for the Warhamster stream, I just thought I’d share. 🙂
I use Streamlabs OBS for the hamster stream, it lets me show the bench cam in 1080p so you can see most of the mistakes I make live!
If you didn’t catch it, I stream Warhammer stuff live every Sunday evening. You can always catch my live-streams on youtube.com/GrossModels/live when they are on!
Last night marked a huge milestone for me and the Warhamster stream.
It was the first time ever that I have have more than 50 viewers at one time (51 actually!)
I don’t know if it was the subject (the Fighta Bomberz) or just word of the streams getting around, but I’d like to thank everyone for joining me while I build and paint.
I thought I’d take the opportunity to post some pictures of the planes in progress to try to entice more of you to come along and watch! 😉
I painted the first 2 back before Christmas and then moved on to another project. In the new year I opened a vote to see what I should build next, and they came out top.
I then asked for comments for the colours of the other 2 planes, with “Purple” and “The Fang” winning.
Last night I got some detail metallic painting on all 4 planes, they still have some more to add but I’m happy with how they are coming along.
Come and watch what happens next, sundays from 8pm. YouTube.com/GrossModels/live
The orange dragon I have spent a couple of months painting live on Sunday evenings during the Warhamster stream was entered into my local Warhammer stores November competition “Monsters”. And it managed to rack up an impressive number of votes. In fact, enough to win.
As it was the first time I have ever entered any of my work into competition I am very happy, and even amazed at its success. It was a public Facebook vote, people just had to “Like” the picture of the model they, well, liked.
It meant I came home at the end of the month with a “Golden Grot” and as far as I can tell, the chance to call myself an award winning model maker. 😉
Thank you to all who voted, I didn’t get a chance to read my prepared speech when I collected my prize this morning but rest assured it would have been epic.
I shall enter again later in the year, when the category and the store are ready for the massive Baneblade project. And after I have finished it!
After a busy week of models and partworks I’ve taken a few days off of Modelmaking and gone back to the xbox.
I’ve finished the new Star Wars game, and just started ‘Control’, a similar sort of thing but grounded in the real world. Although it’s a real world with some sort of alien invasion/ paranormal/ superpower thing going on.
I’ll be playing that for a few more days and will get back to the bench at the weekend. Honest.
There’s still “An Evening with Everyone” on Thursday, come join in when I post the link on my Facebook page just before the show!
